Moving a doorway, changing the position of cabinetry or reconsidering where fixtures sit can have a bigger effect on the finished room than another upgrade in materials. The first priority is making the space easier to use.
HOME RENOVATIONS, KITCHENS, BATHROOMS & EXTENSIONS IN ST ALBANS VIC
Your Renovation Shouldn't Be Passed From Person to Person.
Level A Builders is based in St Albans. Whether you're renovating the kitchen or bathroom, creating more room with an extension, or improving the backyard with a deck or pergola, you deal directly with Jake, a qualified carpenter and qualified waterproofer, from the first site visit through to completion. The scope is set out in writing before work begins, anything outside that scope is explained and approved before it proceeds, and you can follow progress through the live project portal.
If we miss the timeframe agreed in your contract, you get $1,000 back for every week we're late.*
BEFORE THE FINISHES GO IN
What You See at the End Depends on What Gets Done Before It.
A bathroom is more than tiles and fittings. A kitchen is more than cabinetry. A deck or outdoor area is more than the surface you see when the job is finished. Waterproofing, carpentry, services, access and trade sequencing can all shape the result long before the visible finishes go in. Jake works through the known scope upfront so you understand what the agreed work actually includes before construction begins.

KITCHENS & BATHROOMS BUILT AROUND DAILY USE
The Rooms You Use Most Shouldn't Be the Ones You Have to Work Around.
A kitchen that is short on bench space or storage becomes frustrating every day. A bathroom with the wrong layout can feel cramped no matter how good the finishes are. Jake starts with how the room needs to work, then builds the scope around the layout, services and construction required to make it work properly.
A kitchen does not operate on its own. Circulation, storage, bench space and the connection to dining and living areas all affect how well it works. Jake looks at the room in the context of the spaces around it rather than treating the cabinetry as the whole project.
A bathroom renovation depends on more than tiles and fittings. Substrate preparation, drainage, plumbing and waterproofing all need to be considered before the finishes go in. Jake is a qualified waterproofer, so the wet-area work stays close to the person responsible for the renovation.
Kitchens and bathrooms can uncover conditions that were not visible beforehand. The agreed scope is set out before work begins, and if something is found that changes that scope, Jake explains the issue and the additional work before it proceeds.
WHEN THE HOME NEEDS MORE FROM THE BLOCK
More Room Inside.
A Backyard You Actually Use. Both Should Make the Home Work Better.
An extension should solve something the existing home cannot. That might mean another bedroom, a larger living area, more room around the kitchen or a better connection between the house and backyard. Jake starts with what the extra space needs to achieve before the scope is worked out.
Adding floor area is only part of the job. Openings, circulation, floor levels, structure and the way existing rooms connect to the new space all affect whether the extension feels natural once it is finished.
A deck or pergola can turn an underused part of the property into somewhere the household actually spends time. The right size, position, access from the house and relationship to the yard matter just as much as the timber or finish you see at the end.
Extensions and outdoor areas can involve framing, structural carpentry, access, existing conditions and several stages of work coming together. Jake works through the known scope and sequencing upfront so the different parts of the project are planned as one job rather than separate pieces.

Before You Compare Prices, Make Sure You're Comparing the Same Job.
Two quotes can look similar while allowing for very different work. Demolition, waterproofing, carpentry, services, materials, access and what happens if existing conditions change can all affect the real scope. Jake works through the agreed work in writing, stays your direct point of contact and gets approval before additional out-of-scope work proceeds. You can also follow progress through the live project portal, so you are not left guessing where the job stands.
HOW IT STARTS
You Don't Need a Finished Plan. You Need Jake to See the Job.
Start with the part of the home you want to improve. It might be the kitchen, bathroom, an extension, a deck or a broader renovation. You do not need every detail decided before the first conversation.
The site visit gives Jake a chance to see how the space works now, understand what you want to change and identify the existing conditions, access or practical constraints that may affect the job.
Once the project is better understood, Jake works through what the agreed work needs to include, what may need further input and what should be resolved before construction begins.
Jake can then explain the proposed scope, pricing and expected timeframe so you can decide whether the project is the right fit to move forward.
